BREAKING NEWS from the U.S. today via the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today. They have announced that they will reduce mammal testing to 30% by 2025, and will stop conducting or funding studies on mammals entirely by 2035.
This is a historic win for all the forgotten lab animals that suffer endlessly for cruel research experiments, which do not necessarily translate to human health outcomes. Choose Cruelty Free applauds the EPA's shift to end reliance on conventional animal tests and their move toward the cruelty-free, anti-vivisection future that the world wishes to see.

The agency is aiming to "aggressively pursue a reduction in animal testing." They also announced $4.25 million in funding to five universities to research the development and use of alternative test methods and strategies that reduce, refine, and/or replace vertebrate animal testing. These could include organ-on-a-chip technologies, cell cultures, computer modelling and other methods that are faster, cheaper and more predictive than time-consuming animal tests.
