Cruelty exposed against dogs and monkeys in Toxicology Lab in Germany

11 October 2019

Cruelty Free International's investigation with SOKO Tierschutz in Germany at the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology (LPT) has shed light on the horrors animals face behind closed laboratory doors.

The family owned contract-testing laboratory carries out toxicity testing for pharmaceutical, industrial and agrochemical companies from all over the world in order to meet the requirements of governments and regulatory authorities.

Dogs are left bleeding and dying, monkeys are routinely abused, all in the name of regulatory testing. (Warning: graphic images and footage via Please watch it and share if you can, so the world can see this cruelty and take action to end it) Michelle Thew, Chief Executive of Cruelty Free International stated: Our investigation has uncovered appalling animal suffering, inadequate care, poor practices and breaches of European and German law. We are calling for the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology (LPTto be closed. We are also calling for a comprehensive review into the use of animals in regulatory toxicity testing in Europe, including the UK. Every investigation, without fail, shows a similar tale of misery and disregard of the law. Full story by our friends at Cruelty Free International here.
