“I was born and raised in Melbourne. I went to Carey Grammar – my favourite things were laughing with my friends and working at excuses not to do anything so at least I had a lot of fun!

After leaving school I spent eight years pursuing my career as a TV host. That included a twelve month journalism course and doing corporate videos and voice overs. During that period I worked as a model just to earn money to pay the rent and the bills. I didn’t enjoy modeling, so to give my life some substance I volunteered at an animal shelter looking after the abandoned and abused animals.

My breakthrough into Television was when I screen tested for the TV showOur House. I was successful in that screen test and was offered the job. Three months later whilst working on Our House I was asked to screen test for a new show called Changing Rooms. I worked on both for awhile then gave upOur House to concentrate on Changing Rooms.

I love all animals, and have had horses, dogs and cats. Joseph, a Novascotia Duck Tolling Retriever, has been with me for ten years. I got him from an animal shelter, even though I had no intention of getting a dog at the time. He just won me over and still does.

Lilly was a birthday present to my mum from all the kids. She and Joseph have become best friends.

Testing products on animals is abhorrent and intolerable. How can anyone do that to something so beautiful and innocent?

Those who want to test on a living thing should just test on each other. If they are not harmful then it won’t hurt, and if they are harmful then they shouldn’t be tested on anything else either.
If you’re not aware of what your using, take an extra two seconds and read the label. It is just as easy to buy a product not tested on animals and a lot more enjoyable to use.”
