Leisel Jones

What is an average day in the life of Leisel Jones?

I get up at 4:45am, train for two hours, come home, sleep and then head back to training for another two hours. After training I’m so exhausted so I usually have a long soak in a hot bath. The lavender helps any of the day’s stress just drift away!

Following your sensational win in the Queensland Championships 200m breaststroke in January, do you think 2005 will be your most successful year yet?

It’s very hard to predict what the year will hold but I’d love to improve on my best every year.

Which competition would you most like to succeed in?
I’d love to achieve my best at a major, high pressure meet like the World Championships or the Olympics.

What would you like to be doing in the future?

In the future, I’d love to still be involved in sport through television.

What made you start changing your nail polish colour after each victory? Is it for good luck?

In 2000 at the trials just for a little fun I painted my nails racy red. I have a stack a home, so I choose a colour depending on my mood.

What are your other interests away from swimming?

Shopping! I love shopping for clothes and makeup.

Do you have any companion animals, could you tell us about them?

I have two beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniels named Chloe and Chelsea.

How do you feel about testing cosmetics on animals?

I love animals so much and can’t stand the thought of people testing on them. That’s why I love Innoxa’s products so much. It would be great if other companies could follow Innoxa’s initiative by not testing on animals. Innoxa has been leading the way in this area for a long time. Other companies should take note!”
